Week 6 - GlobShop Case

This week's question is about the 2007 Globshop case study about offshore outsourcing by Ranganathan, Krishnan & Glickman. You'll need an hour or so to read it. In your opinion, what was the most significant change made by Globshop in the course of outsourcing its information systems? (Why was this change so important to Globshop?) 

Week 5 - Zara Case

Please read the Zara case study by Gallagher (in Blackboard course resources) and the two sections about Zara in the textbook (chapters 2 and 5).  

In your opinion, what in the main reason for Zara's success in the highly competitive fashion industry? (How easy will it be for Zara to sustain this success?)

Week 4 - FBI Case

Please read the FBI case study and review the framework of “organisational design variables” (chapter 3/fig. 3.1 of text) and the linked “managerial levers” (chapter 1/fig. 1.8). 

Imagine that you’ve passed a high level security clearance and have been appointed as the FBI’s new CIO (at the time of the case study). Which of the managerial levers would you focus on to help the FBI make more strategic use of IT?  (What would you do and why?)
